On Thursday,May 28,2009, a JSU patrol officer, while conducting a rountine check of the Faculty Apartments area noticed the smell of smoke. Upon further investigation, the officer determined that the smell of smoke was coming from the dumpster located behind the building. The fire was extinguished without futher incident.

On Monday, June 1,2009, a sergeant was dispatched to B.F. Roberts Hall in reference to a staff member. The JSU staff advised the officer that she wanted to file an information report in reference to her estranged boyfriend. The couple was involed in a domestic dispute off campus on May 26, 2009.

A member of the JSU grounds crew struck a barrel and some other equipment with the cart that he was driving, while moving equipment onto the feild. There was no visible damage to the cart or the equipment.

When the officer arrived on the scene, he was advised that a JSU student was having a seizure. The student was alert and conscious. She advised the officer that she wanted to be transported to the University Health Center, where she was treated and released.

On Monday, June 8,2009, a JSU security officer, while making a rountine check of the H.T. Sampson Library, noticed the smell of gas in the area. An employee of Harrell Contracting Group advised the officer that his crew had damaged a gas supply line while working at the Johnson Hall Construction Site. Officers evacuated buildings in the surrounding area, while Atmos Energy was called to the scene to contain and repair the leak.
